**The Clans**
Description
The Clans are the organizations that make the citizens of Angmar.
The bulk of the population of Angmar dedicate themselves to a different Clan. The Clans are responsible for training their young and will usually take in outsiders looking to be taught the way of a weapon.
Each Clansperson must wear their Mastery and Clan arm bands. The Mastery band is worn on the left arm and the Clan on the right arm.
The Mastery ranks are:
- White
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue
- Brown
- Red
- Black
The Clans are:
- Spear
- Sword
- Ax
- Hammer
- Flail
- Fist
The Clans are different than most warrior lead factions. They are usually very welcoming of outsiders that wish to train with them.
Any petitioning to join a Clan must sign a contract with the clan they join dedicating themselves to 2-5 years of service. The first year of service is just that. Servitude. All initiates, no matter how highly or lowly born must start here. This teaches the initiate two important things. The first is modesty and that warriors must serve those they defend instead of expecting to be served. The second is the reinforcement of the chain of command.
Of note, the The Dawnbreakers's Officers will usually earn Green Mastery and their Guard Captains Blue Mastery.
Leadership of the Clans is determined by combat. Every five years the current Patriarch (or Matriarch) of each Clan will compete for the Title of Warlord of the Clans. In a time of War, the Warlord has full control over all Clans and Clanspeople. The other Patriarchs (or Matriarchs) are trusted advisers to the Warlord.
Outside the active war, the Warlord title is primarily ceremonious.
Clanspeople value tactics and skill of arm as much as raw brute strength.
Clanspeople are frequently hired out by other cities in the Keun Bunji to act as guards, mercenaries, and trainers.
Additionally, while inside of Angmar, the Clanspeople do not war with each other. Even if hired by two opposing factions.
It is not uncommon for Clanspeople to meet on the field of battle outside of Angmar though. They do not shy from the fight.
New: As of SA 1611
The current clan members and leaders will all need to be created.
