**Priory of Zion**

Description

Nestled in a cozy, frozen corner shelf high in the Whitehorn Mountains, the reclusive group of psionicists and monks make their home in an ancient monastery called the Priory of Zion. The monks of the priory vanished mysteriously near the end of the First Age, but the original structure of the priory remained in remarkable condition. Three psionic monks of the far away land of Yinzau discovered this vacant gem and built their home there. They eventually took on students near the start of the Second Age and rebuilt the monestary teaching new monks and psionicsts and instilling in them the benevolent cause of aiding those in need.

As of Second Age 1611, the Priory has been rebuilt and restored multiple times throughout it's long history of nearly 1800 years. Currently the Priory is undergoing constant renovations with the financial support of the nobility of Celwynvian.

Out of respect for the original founders and the history of the priory, the current residents have kept the old name of the Priory of Zion as both the monastery they live in and to represent their school.  Today the school consists of roughly 20 psionic students who jokingly call themselves the Psions of Zion, approximately 100 monks some of which are dual classed psion/monk, the three primary masters/leaders, usually about 13 to 15 other teachers, and approximately 20 custodial persons (low ranking monks) to help with the upkeep and maintenance of the monastery and grounds. In all, there are usually 140-160 total residents at the priory at any given time.

Psions and Monks of the priory have a simple philosophy. Help those who can't help themselves. Actions speak louder than words. There is a wisdom in silence.
