The Circle of Six, Ascended to Godhood

The Circle of Six, the common name given to the group of beings often believed to be the first inhabitants of Aeriador, before men, elves or dwarves came to this world. The first true inhabitant of the world was Aerendyl, a powerful wizard from another world, created Aeriador through magic. Aeriador was tainted through the evil of the Shard which had touched Aerendyl and passed into his creation, and although the others of the Six had no creative power in Aeriador, their presence helped shape the world into what it is today and saved it from complete destruction from the Shard. Although Aerendyl created the world of Aeriador, he cannot claim it as his own, as the others of the Six have given life to it through their personalities such that the forests have the life and feeling of Faeryl Dyrr, the oceans are one with Finduilen who has dwelt in Aeriador longer than all the others save Aerendyl. The night of Aeriador is a portrait of Amara, and the people have the militaristic drive of Celeborn while the faith of the peoples dwell with Zemira.

All members of the Circle of Six are mythic level beings, of varying levels, while dwelling in Aeriador and are undying of age. The Circle of Six have no official hierarchy or structure, but according to Aerendyl, here is how they are ranked:

Aerendyl Nightstar, the greatest of the Six, Creator of Aeriador, Demon Lord of the First Layer of the Abyss

Celeborn Althilis, second of the Six, Vengeance of Aeriador, Demon Hunter

Zemira Aelorothi, third of the Six, the Goddess of Light, The Morning Star

Faeryl Dyrr, fourth of the Six, Mistress of the Forests, Queen of the Dark Forests

Amara Nightwater, fifth of the Six, Goddess of Desire and Domination, Queen of the Lost Souls

Finduilën Nenyanëhtar, Lord of the Sea, the Sea Dragon

Of all the Six, only two are referred to as Gods, Zemira, the Goddess of Light, and Amara, the Goddess of Desire and Domination. Although, Finduilën is often referred to as Lord of the Sea and among druids he is revered above all, which gives him great influence and discomfort. All of the Six are Mythic Tier 10 while in Aeriador.

In relationships of the Six, things get a bit more complicated.

Aerendyl is a paranoid demon lord but genuinely gets along with Celeborn well. He is at odds with Zemira due to their polar opposite ethos, and his relationship with Amara could be described as intimate, perhaps even very intimate of late, except that he has trapped Amara in a ruby for fear she  could overthrow him. Things will get a bit more complicated when she is released. Aerendyl rarely thinks about Faeryl or Finduilën as threats and has little respect for nature worship. Although Aerendyl respects Faeryl's ability with a bow, he thinks very little of Finduilën.
