Power Levels in Aeriador

Aeriador is a fantastical world full of various races and professions. There are many powerful people that dwell here and I count myself blessed to be an acquaintance to many of them. The “Wise” might say power is knowledge, but there is also a less arbitrary way to count the powerful in the realms.  I have categorized power levels into the chart below and applied a rarity to it. Each higher level is about half as common as the one before it (an exponential/“geometric” rarity).

Using a total population of 60,000,000, here are both the exact-by-level counts and the at-least-this-level counts.

Rarity by Level (q = 0.5 per level)

Each level up halves the headcount. P(exact L) = 0.5^L, P(≥L) = 0.5^(L-1).

“Legendary” (≥11): ~1 in 1,024 people

“Pinnacle” (≥20): ~1 in 524,288 people
