Estimated Populations by Races

Humans, by far the dominate race in Aeriador, account for 90-95% of all peoples of the world.  There are both lesser humans, “normal” humans, and “high” humans, with Danemar accounting for the High Humans, most others are normal or lesser humans.

Humans of Aeriador - Approximately 55,000,000

There are approximately 60,000,000 inhabitants across the continents of Annun and Sonnun. Annun has the greater population of 40,000,000, while Sonnun has approximately 20,000,000. Across the entire world, I cannot say.

     - Danemar, High Humans - approximately 500,000 on the continent of Annun. There is no significant presence elsewhere.

Elves - all sub-races of elves - Approximately 2,200,000

     - Tel'Uinaen (Grey Elves) of the Islands of Gelmar - approximately 400,000, approximately 150,000 in Arvandor
     - Tel'Lasien (Green Elves) of the Elder Forest and abroad - Elder Forest is roughly 60,000; Forest of Duir approximately 50,000; Forests of Aered Amon and Aered Bruien, approximately 60,000; approximately 65,000 throughout Sonnun; total Tel'Lasien is roughly 235,000; there are approximately 80,000 in Arvandor.
     - Tel'Celien (Silver Elves) of Aered Bruien and Arvandor - approximately 400,000 in Aered Bruien, approximately 200,000 in Arvandor
     - Tel'Laurien (Gold Elves) of Arvandor and abroad - approximately 150,000 in Arvandor, approximately 50,000 throughout Annun, but primarily in Celwynvian, Azurespire, Gondolin, and the Grey Havens
     - Tel'Moredhel (Dark Elves), this group is highly reclusive and hidden. I have no count for this group, although some sages believe there are 500,000 living in the underdark places of this world.

     - There are approximately another 100,000 elves in the southern continent of Sonnun, but my limited knowledge of the Houses of the Elves of Sonnun prevents me from reporting a more accurate number. It is estimated that there are roughly 5,000 Tel'Laurien, 10,000 Tel'Uinaen, 20,000 Tel'Celien, and 65,000 Tel'Lasien making up the majority of elves in Sonnun.

Dwarves - approximately 265,000

The reclusive clans of the dwarves are more difficult to count, but as of now I can safely say there are at least 265,000 dwarves in both Annun and Sonnun.

     - Iron Hill Dwarves, there are approximately 60,000 dwarves in various clans in this region.

     - Grey Mountain Dwarves, total population of 100,000 with multiple clans.

     - Angmar Dwarves, total population of 15,000

     - Silvervane Dwarves, total population of 40,000

     - Rimescared Range Dwarves, total population of 50,000

Hobbits - Approximately 40,000 - 50,000

Hobbits, sometimes called Halflings by humans, are generally a far smaller people-group than the others. I have only seen one group of Hobbits in Sonnun, but my travels through Sonnun are few. In Annun, there are at least three major settlements of hobbits, but even a major settlement is small by comparison.

     - Hobbits of Tethoris, approximately 5,000 to 10,000 total population. This is a small settlement of hobbits devoted to the art of wine making and have some of the finest vineyards I have seen.

     - Hobbits of Bywater, probably the largest hobbit settlement in the northern realm of Annun, there are between 10,000 and 15,000 hobbits that dwell in the greater area of Bywater.

     - Oakenway, primarily a human settlement, there is a large hobbit presence of roughly 3,000 living in and around the town.

     - Corsadocks, a simple hobbit settlement, Corsadocks has a population of 7,500 hobbits.

     - Sliprest, another smaller hobbit settlement, Sliprest is very near to and under the protection of Asmeril. There are roughly 7,000 hobbits in the area of Sliprest.
