Ilmárien, of House Celedhring

Ilmárien, NG female Grey Elf, Druid 14/Hierophant 5 (Chosen of Selene)

Ilmárien is the current (as of SA 929) Great Druidess of the druids in the Circle of Gelmar.  She is a noblewoman of the House of Celedhring of the Tel'Uinaen (Grey Elves) and holds on her birthright the title of Lady of Tol Galan. Ilmárien is gentle, peaceful, kind and quiet, and she is noble in bearing, tall and slender standing over 6'4" tall. She is lithe and has a fair complexion with long, light blonde hair and light blue eyes. She is second only to her sister Celedhrin in beauty among the Grey Elves (App 24). 

Ilmárien does not care for things of violence, weapons, or war, nor does she carry herself with the arrogance or pride of many of her kind. She is not ambitious, but she has risen through the ranks of the druids of Gelmar because of the favor she finds in Selene.  For the last 125 years Ilmárien has been the Great Druidess and Chosen of Selene for the Grey Elves of Gelmar. 
 

The Great Druidess

The Great Druidess of Gelmar is always a member of the House of Celedhring, the chosen house of Selene. She is a level 14 druid of Selene and has attained the highest level of druidic progression under Selene. This is by design. As stated above, the Great Druidess is literally the Chosen of Selene, and Selene grants the Great Druidess several gifts to set her apart from the other druids, marking her undeniably as the Chosen of Selene and to help her fulfill her role as the Great Druidess.

Gifts of Selene to the Great Druidess

The Great Druidess has no control or ability to change these gifts. These are the gifts granted by Selene. As the Chosen of Selene, the Great Druidess becomes a Mythic NPC with 5 tiers in Hierophant. These powers granted by Selene are consistent from Great Druidess to Great Druidess, they do not change. The Great Druidess only holds these powers while in the position of Great Druidess.  She cannot increase her mythic tier and she cannot add or change the powers listed below. The mythic abilities granted are as follows:

Hierophant Divine Surge: Recalled Blessing
Granted Mythic Path Abilities: Commune with Power, Divine Countenance, Empathic Healing, Impeccable Intuition, Divine Potency (x3)
Mythic Ability Score Increases: +2 to Wis, +2 to Cha; additionally, Selene has granted Ilmárien a +4 to Constitution and Charisma, and +4 to Appearance making her more beautiful than any Tel'Uinaen save her sister Celedrhin.
Mythic Feats: Extra Path Ability x2 (Divine Potency), Spell Lore - Mythic Spells Granted: Entangle(1st level), Call Lightning (3rd level), Dispel Magic (4th level), Cure Critical Wounds(5th level), Control Weather (7th level)

Path Ability Divine Potency (x3): this ability is granted three times and gives the Great Druidess four bonus 1st-level, four bonus 2nd-level, and four bonus 3rd-level divine spell slots.

Staff of Selene - this staff is the ceremonial staff and symbol of authority for the Great Druidess of Gelmar, and it is an heirloom of the Seat of the Great Druidess position passed on for millennia. This staff has been in existence for more than 4000 years predating many of the druidic circles as they are today, and it remains in pristine condition due to its masterwork build and enchantments. It is made from a solid length of silver wood of the majestic mallorn trees and is engraved with druidic runes along it's length. This staff is one of the oldest artifacts of the ancient world of the First Age and has a varied and complicated history. It's origins are mostly speculated, but it is known to only have been in the hands of the druids of Gelmar since the end of the First Age.

Powers

The Staff of Selene is a +2/+2 quarterstaff and has all the powers of the Staff of the Hierophant except as noted. This version removes the spell Righteous Might and replaces it with Commune with Nature. This special version of Commune with Nature has an increased range of 2 miles per level of the wielder (28 mile radius for the Great Druidess). Casting this version of Commune with Nature takes 2 charges. 

Ring of the Great Druidess - this ring was created by the Elven smiths of Cel in SA33 as a gift to the Hierophants to help fight against the demons of the Abyss. It was worn by Shadowmoon for many years before bestowing the ring as gift to the Great Druidess of Gelmar in the year SA 349, and it has since been an heirloom of the Seat of the Great Druidess. The ring is a delicate, slender band of mithral adn set with a large uncut emerald.  The image engraved around the slender band is one of vines and leaves that wrap around the circumference of the ring with small emeralds in the shape of leaves. Designed to protect the wearer from harm, this ring has the combined powers of a Ring of Evasion, a Ring of Freedom of Movement,  and a Ring of Spell Turning. Wearing this ring counts as wearing two magical rings, and the wearer cannot benefit from another magic ring.

Tiara - this circular headpiece of mithral and adamant gemstones is often worn by the Great Druidess during ceremonies or when attending events of nobility or royalty. She will also wear the tiara at druidic events involving the other Druidic Circles of Annun involving the Great Druids and Grand Druid. The Tiara acts as a Headband of Mental Prowess (Wis/Cha +4).
